April 2011: K C Engineering and TNB Remaco Sign Collaboration Agreement

(Kuala Lumpur) K C Engineering Ltd has signed agency and collaboration agreements with TNB Repair and Maintenance Sdn. Bhd (TNB Remaco), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Tenaga Nasional Bhd (TNB), Malaysia. The agreements run over 5 years and cover the supply services for whitemetal bearings and seals from K C Engineering to the Malaysian territory and for the transfer of technology to TNB Remaco’s facility to establish an authorised repair centre for whitemetal bearings to be run by TNB REMACO. K C Engineering has an established reputation with TNB Remaco for repair of whitemetal bearings and the official agreements represent long term commitment by both parties to serve this market for thermal and hydro power plants and oil and gas industries.

At the official signing ceremony on 28th April 2011, Dr. Keith Chester, the founder and Managing Director of K C Engineering exchanged contracts with TNB President and Chief Executive Officer Dato' Sri Che Khalib Mohamad Noh. Photographed below at the ceremony from left to right are:

In the short term K C Engineering and REMACO will continue to serve the market through services sourced in the UK from K C Engineering and as the facility at TNB Remaco is established before the work will transfer to TNB Remaco’s Repair Centre at Klang. This will greatly reduce lead time to the end user and potential downtime, aswell as allowing TNB Remaco to develop its capability to provide O&M services to the power industry. To support the technology transfer agreement K C Engineering will be providing a full time technical advisor at TNB Remaco’s Repair centre to oversee the commissioning of the facility and supervise repair processes during the start up phases.
